As Ford prepared to launch its first family of battery-powered utilitarian vehicles, the electron project looked to shorten the electrification gap by providing a customized approach to EV to its customers thanks to the use of the already available data on its subscribed Ford Telematics platform.
Using their tracked specific vehicle usage information Ford Electron provided fleet managers with a detailed proposal of which new Ford eTransit models could fulfil their needs and this way not just facilitating EV adoption, but also reducing whats known as 'range anxiety.
